DON'T JUDGE ME
let.me.tell.you.what.i.look.like
Katherine Donovan's appearance is a drastic juxtaposition to her intense personality. Her beautiful dark brown hair frames her thin and soft-looking face and falls to just above her bosom, sometimes straightened, other times expertly curled, the latter style generally saved for contests. Her eyebrows are always plucked to perfection, and compliment her chocolate brown irises. In lower lighting, the dark color of her eyes comes across as mysterious and almost sinister; in her preferred environment of the sun, however, they sparkle brilliantly, becoming an endearing aspect. Rosiness perpetually is decorated on her cheeks, along with a thin yet dynamic application of eye liner. Following her "firey" affinity, her make-up color scheme generally consists of bright reds and oranges, complete with a boldly deep red lipstick. Ostentatious earrings also aren't uncommon, even for a casual wardrobe. Katherine definitely likes to be noticed.
Physically, Katherine is about average. Standing at about five foot seven inches, she isn't incredibly intimidating upon stature alone. She certainly isn't weak, but she isn't overly bulky. Her curves are nothing too outlandish, but are definitely something to be admired. Carrying herself confidently, the better features are pronounced, and low-cut shirts make up a majority of her wardrobe. Something especially interesting, however, is her tattoo. Across her sleek back, she has flames swirling around. During contests, she will generally wear a dress or shirt that exposes the tattoo and her shoulders. Her sensuality is quite possibly her strongest attribute, upon first impressions.

Katherine is the perfect candidate for the team magma type. A beautiful woman with strong convictions, as well as a deviance to her that any one would like to exploit. Despite considering herself a highly independent and intelligent woman, her sociopathic tendencies reveal a weakness within her, something that she has never accepted or acknowledged. That is a large reason why she is so aggressive, to cover up any weaknesses she may have. It would take incredibly calculated psychological manipulation to use her talents. Being a coordinator (and having always aspired to being one), she is definitely a flamboyant woman. Every move she makes is planned, intended to catch an audience's eye and possess a "wow" factor. She is very composed, an innate need to be in absolute control of herself and her surroundings. Everything she does, she puts her all into. For katherine to take something seriously is a dangerous thing, as there is next to nothing that could deter her from completing the goal. This leads her to being disrespectful of others' goals or means of achieving them, even her superiors, should she disagree with them. The woman is not one to mess with, but if one could find a nearly impossible way to chink her armor, he or she may be able to find a vulnerable girl within.
WHERE I COME FROM
if.i.had.to.write.an.essay;
Lavaridge Town was a small one, high in the mountains. It was a popular spot for older people, retirees. Paul and Anna Donovan moved there shortly after Anna's mother, the former Hot Springs Owner, passed away, inheriting the Springs. It was odd, they were rather young for the environment but fit in well. That is, until Anna found herself pregnant at 35 years old. There hadn't been children roaming around the town in a long time, the Gym Leader being the most notable younger member of the town. When Katherine was born, nobody really knew what to make of her. She was an active little girl, but without other children to bond with, she channeled it into exploration. The mountains became her stomping grounds, living vicariously through the trainers who would pass through. It was a rather lonely life, and with everyone around her being easily 30 or more years older, attention was scarce. With how little attention she received, Katherine became more and more hyperactive, doing anything she could for people to notice her.
When she was in her preteens, the trainers that passed through were now her age, and she found herself consistently envious of them. Even the annoying ones, they were still entrusted to explore the world, not just the mountains she had known so well. Contests were airing on TV all the time, and the celebrity that the coordinators were showered in was incredibly appealing to the attention-starved little girl. Angry at her parents and the town she lived in, she became angrier, more aggressive in her insatiable thirst for recognition. Outside of her parents, she had never once bonded with another person for an extended period of time, and while she was a great thinker, her interpersonal skills were essentially nonexistent. The only emotion she really felt toward others was contempt, born of jealousy. As she grew, that contempt developed her arrogance, considering others beneath her, in an attempt to feel confident in herself. It was a flimsy facade, but the more the girl embraced it, the stronger it became.
At 16, she decided to take the plunge into training, choosing the route emphasizing in Coordinating. Not long after the decision, she found her way into the ranks of Team Magma, their goal being something she was familiar with, growing up in the mountains, and as a lover of the land, found the purpose of expanding it a rational and important one. Their means of getting things done were also appealing to her, and as she continued her coordinating career, the stronger she became. By the time she was 19, she had been involved in the team for two and a half years and have made quite the impression. Being a commanding and large personality, the higher ups took notice of her potential, and as a coordinator, she loved the attention. Team Magma's reputation had expanded quite a bit at that point too, and putting a face to their name would be excellent advertisement, especially someone who was so passionate about the cause. A rising coordinator, Katherine oh too willingly pushed for the "position", and assumed the position. Every contest and performance became important to the cause, her choice in Pokemon largely reflecting the views of Team Magma, the expansion of fire and earth authority.

This sample is from Katherine on a Pokemon site, this is probably at least double my usual posting length, it was a solo thread so most posts were a combo of a few posts.
Nostalgia was frequently referred to as the most powerful emotion.
Associated with a pleasant memory, the sensation of vivid memory awakens
strenuous feelings. In a situation where one begins to question his or
her self or feels overwhelmed by a new life, familiarity can be the
perfect remedy. There is something mystical about the déjá vu
experience that awakens a spiritual sentimentality for even the most
atheistic of people. Perhaps it is a defense mechanism, a coping tool
against a lack of ability to assimilate. Whatever the reason, nostalgia
was something Katherine Donovan found herself seeking in the face of
her great move to Concordia Academy.
Shortly after being placed
into the House of Igneous and assigned a dorm, Katherine received her
"starter" Pokémon. The selection she was presented was interesting, and
while her first instinct tended toward the Fire Pokémon, the Darumaka,
she ultimately found a kindred spirit in the female Snubbull. Upon
first interaction, Katherine could tell that she was feisty, a spitfire
of a young Pokémon. A clear sassy nature, the Normal-type was
incredibly energetic, yet not in the stereotypical playful sense that
most new trainers desired. This energy was partially disrespectful, the
kind that needed to be impressed before it would respect another.
Anything that Katherine would dish out, the Snubbull would dish right
back. Seeing so much of her combative self in the small pink creature
made the decision easy; the Snubbull was hers.
However, even
partnered with such a similarly spirited Pokémon hadn't been enough to
fully acclimate her to the new surroundings. The mountain had been her
only home for such a long time, devoid of others around her age. Coming
to the Academy was a culture shock, people everywhere with interactions
happening constantly. She needed something to take a step back, to
ease her way into what she could only presume is normal society. It
wasn't a problem of personalities in other people -- she hadn't expected
to enjoy others' presence -- but the seemingly inevitable interactions
with them became too much to handle.
After hearing of the Hot
Springs on island of her House, it seemed like the perfect opportunity.
With only a backpack and her Snubbull, Katherine entered the Hot
Springs. The smell and the refreshing steam brought back memories of
her childhood, spending so much time in the Springs her parents owned.
The Pokémon at her side, despite an attitude she had carried during the
trip, seemed to feel relaxed from the exposure too. "Glad to see you like the Springs. Odds are we'll be spending a lot of time here."
Anyone witnessing how Katherine treated Pokémon would be confused, but
likely amused. She treated others with such disdain, a bitch by
definition. But with Pokémon, the woman was as compassionate as anyone.
Growing up, she had so much exposure to wild Pokémon that she
overdeveloped skills around them, a compensation for how incapable of
dealing with people she was.
Placing her backpack on the ground, Katherine turned and crouched in front of the Snubbull. "So,
little spitfire, you remind me of someone I knew back home. She's kind
of a big deal, being the town Gym Leader and all. I'm going to name
you after her, okay Flannery?" The Snubbull turned her head to the side, a face of weak resilience. "I get it, you're not about to just trust me. Smart girl, I'm not a fan of strangers either."
She smirked at Flannery, acknowledging the competence of her new
Pokémon’s judgment. It was quite clear that it would take a little more
than conversation to earn her respect.
Katherine decided to try something else to get the Pokémon to trust her. ”Let’s see what you’re capable of.” Flipping open her Pokédex, the electronic voice spoke to her. ” Small Pokémon flee from its scary face. It is, however, considered by women to be cute.” Looking up, Flannery was bearing the alleged frightening grin, causing Katherine to smile. ”You do have a certain aesthetic appeal, you know? A nice, intimidating face, nobody’s going to wanna screw with you.”
Flannery could tell whatever Katherine was saying was complimentary
based on the inflections in her voice, but she wasn’t quite ready to
give in yet. Turning, the Pokémon gave her butt a little disrespectful
shake. Standing up, the woman turned on her heel, pretending to leave
the Springs. ”I’m sure you can find your own way home. I won’t wait up!”
Knowing herself as well as she did, Katherine knew that if, just once,
someone had ignored her pleas for attention, she would’ve caved. It
was almost impossible to work someone down with an even remotely similar
proclivity for stubbornness; she knew it was only a matter of time
before the Pokémon would come running back.
